I student-taught full-time while doing the intensive one-year Master’s program at Very Prestigious University. Apparently I didn’t like to sleep much. There’s not much narrative here, for two reasons; first, I was too busy to write much, and second, what drama there was involved me and a master teacher who HATED me for no apparent reason, forcing me to switch schools halfway through the year. (Not my cooperating teacher; he was lovely, though I was frustrated with how little I got to teach.) I’ve left most of that out because it involves the administration at the school as well as some administrative incompetency at VPU. It was a dark time, and I’d rather not think about it too much.
